MAPACH is an initiative for sustainability that started in the summer of 2018 with the cleanup of beaches and oceans in the Yucatán Peninsula in southern Mexico. Soon after it became a movement that contributed heavily to the formation and coalition of several NGOs in Mexico. The objective of MAPACH at the time, was to create furniture or products out of the residues picked up at these cleanups through the transformation of materials.
MAPACH has received international attention when the Friendship Ambassador's Impact Report was published in January 2020, as one of the thirteen projects working towards the Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations
